How do I pass the 3CX Firewall Checker?
To pass the Firewall Checker, you must ensure your router/firewall allows traffic on specific ports. 1. Forward TCP/UDP 5060 (SIP) to your 3CX server IP. 2. Forward the UDP 9000-10999 range (RTP Audio). 3. Ensure "SIP ALG" is disabled on your router. 4. Run the Firewall Checker again from the 3CX Dashboard.
What is a 3CX SBC and when do I need it?
The 3CX SBC (Session Border Controller) is a software service used to connect remote IP phones to a 3CX server located in the cloud or a different office. It bundles all SIP/RTP traffic into a single secure tunnel, eliminating audio issues and the need for complex firewall configuration at the remote site.
How to provision an IP Phone using PnP (Plug and Play)?
For PnP provisioning: 1. Ensure the phone is on the same LAN as the 3CX server (or SBC). 2. Factory reset the IP phone. 3. Go to the 3CX Management Console > Phones. 4. You will see the new phone in bold. Select it, click "Assign Ext", and choose the extension number. 5. The phone will auto-configure and reboot.
How to configure the 3CX Mobile App via QR Code?
1. Download the "3CX" app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. 2. Open the Welcome Email sent by your 3CX Administrator. 3. Open the app and tap on the QR code icon in the top right. 4. Scan the QR code found in your Welcome Email or the Web Client settings. Your extension is now active.
How does 3CX Simultaneous Call licensing work?
Unlike traditional PBXs that charge per user/extension, 3CX charges based on Simultaneous Calls (SC). This includes both internal calls (extension to extension) and external calls. For example, a 4SC license allows up to 4 concurrent conversations at once, regardless of whether you have 10 or 50 extensions registered.
How to configure a SIP Trunk in 3CX?
1. Go to SIP Trunks in the Management Console and click "Add SIP Trunk". 2. Select your Country and Provider (or "Generic" if not listed). 3. Enter the Main Trunk Number (e.g., 04235193371). 4. Under "Authentication", enter the ID and Password provided by your VoIP carrier. 5. Configure "Inbound Rules" to route calls to an IVR or Extension.
Where are 3CX call recordings stored?
By default, recordings are stored on the local disk of the 3CX server. - Windows: C:\ProgramData\3CX\Instance1\Data\Recordings - Linux: /var/lib/3cxpbx/Instance1/Data/Recordings You can change this path or archive recordings to Google Storage/FTP/SFTP via the Management Console under "Recordings > Location".

Yes. 3CX is fully supported on major cloud platforms. You can deploy it easily using the "PBX Express" wizard or by creating a VM instance on Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, or Amazon AWS and installing the 3CX ISO for Debian Linux.
How do I renew or upgrade my 3CX License Key?
To renew or upgrade: 1. Contact an authorized partner like TekkPak. 2. Once the order is processed, go to your 3CX Management Console > Settings > License. 3. Click the "Refresh License Key Information" button. The new expiry date or call capacity will update instantly without reinstalling.
